AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She is also captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the American women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win their league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists for the year 2012, making her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the United States to score 20 goals in one year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
