Nichols worked for TNT as a journalist, reporting on NBA games that included regular season games, playoffs and All Star television broadcasts. Nichols also worked for TBS covering baseball and golf broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. Through the history of 42 years of this award, it was the first time that women were in the list of 200+ nominees.
